nomela®

How it works

1. Identify patient

Patient identification is achieved by scanning a barcode with the NHS Number, CHI (in Scotland) or Hospital Number. To avoid errors there is no manual input. Scanning is quick.

2. Locate lesion

nomela® clarifies location of the lesion being tested using a regional image and a close-up image. Each tested lesion in the region is shown with a distinct coloured circle. This puts lesion identification beyond doubt.

3. Capture lesion

The user takes a close-up of the suspect skin lesion using the iPad camera which nomela® sets with a fixed focal length. A focus meter and 3 second delay help avoid camera shake and ensure good focus.

4. Identify edge

The edge is automatically identified and turns green.
The user must then confirm that the correct lesion has been identified.

5. Result

nomela® produces an immediate result.
nomela® can also be used for image capture for later review without a result
if there are contra-indications.

6. Report

The Report contains the Result and details of the medical centre where the test was performed, Patient ID as an NHS, CHI or Hospital Number plus barcode, location, close-up and cropped and enlarged images of the lesion.
